Every Kai Mana song begins with listening - to the ocean at night, wind through
ironwood trees, rain on volcanic soil, and the pulse of everyday island life.
The project is a human-directed virtual band featuring five fictional,
AI-created characters whose voices and elemental perspectives carry songs about
connection, movement, romance, memory, healing, and the sea.

Reinhard Elischka has lived on Maui since 1990. A retired professional windsurfer
who still spends time in the ocean daily through kiteboarding, he brings a lived
relationship with wind, water, and island life to Kai Mana's point of view.

Kai Mana is an imagined, Maui-inspired world - not a claim to represent
traditional Hawaiian cultural practice or to speak for Native Hawaiian
communities. The work is offered with humility, respect, love, and gratitude
for the Hawaiian people and the island of Maui.
